Veteran’s Day Battle of the Branches Race To Be Held at Amp Up Action Park on Sunday, Nov. 12
Amp Up Action Park will host the first annual “Battle of the Branches” Championship Race for the top go kart racer representing each branch of the military on Sunday, Nov. 12 at 5 p.m. In addition to Army, Navy, Air Force and Marines, the U.S. Coast Guard and National Guard also will be granted separate karts.
To qualify for the grand champion race on November 12, active and retired members of the military must compete in at least one qualifying round between Oct. 18, and Thursday, Nov. 9. The fastest lap time will determine the best racer to represent each branch of the armed forces.
Active and retired military and reservists with a valid ID may participate in qualifying rounds at a 25% discount or $15 per race plus a head sock and sales tax.
“We wanted to host Battle of the Branches to thank the members of the military living in the St. Louis area for their service and sacrifice and let them have fun with this friendly competition,” said Owner Kim Link.
“Military recognition is near and dear to us,” Link continued. “My husband and business partner Brian Link is a war veteran and a retired U.S. Naval officer.”
Spectators are invited to view the race for free. Raffle tickets for a chance to win free merchandise also will be distributed to those who donate a dollar or more to the USO Fund via Amp Up Action Park between Oct. 18 and Nov. 12.
The grand champion will earn the ultimate bragging rights for his/her branch as well as an Amp Up baseball cap and a Grand Prix racing package for 8 people, valued at $480.
